Icon Roller — Energy EP (ICNR-004)
2026-08-28

Icon Roller returns with Energy EP — the fourth release on IR Records and the producer's third EP to date. Four cuts of uplifting, floor-focused jungle, built for long days and longer nights.
Energy EP is a tightly focused statement: four tracks that share a single pulse, melodic without ever going soft, rooted in classic jungle science but engineered for the here and now. It's the sound of golden hour on a festival dancefloor — warm, lively and relentlessly forward-moving.
A1) Repeater — Delay-drenched melodies ripple over an intro that flicks between breaks before the amen comes crashing through, welded to a weighty 808 sub. A breakdown of atmospheric flute offers a moment of respite before a snarling Reese bass drags the second drop somewhere darker. An amen smasher in the truest sense.
A2) Searching — Piano and Rhodes intertwine beneath a soulful vocal hook, while rolling breaks keep the energy locked. Basslines switch and mutate throughout, keeping dancers on their toes without ever losing the groove.
B1) Energy — The title track earns its name. Funky, cinematic melodies build over a skippy, stripped-back beat on the intro and breakdowns, before soundclash vocal snippets pile weight onto a drop built for rewinds.
B2) Run & Hide — Closing the EP with a nod to the mid-90s: a jump-up stepper driven by a rising and falling 808 bass riff, laced with a rare groove loop and a hip hop vocal. Old-school foundations, modern punch.
Four tracks. No filler. Energy EP captures Icon Roller at his most vital — melodic, driving and made for the dance.
